Remember my previous post about LA? That I was in the mood for more sand, sea and warmth?

Well, during my second time in LA, I got the first two but the latter decided to jump ship... haha. Anyway, the beach outing had to be done, by hook or by crook. The Californian coast decided to have a cold spell during my coastal visits. (It became so cold, I had to don my winter jacket when I was cycling in Davis last weekend.) But this turned out not too bad, as we had the beach to ourselves, since there were less beach goers.

Two of Nick's friends joined us. In between wetting our feet with the ice cold sea water, we played volleyball and tossed rugby balls. Yes, tossed rugby balls... haha. It took a while for me to get the hang of it. It's not easy! While Nick's friend (*oops, kinda forgot his name.) wasn't getting too friendly with the volleyball haha...

Crazy Nick decided to jump into the ocean while we were waiting for his friends to arrive. I wasn't ready to do that. I went as far soaking in the water till my knees high. It's my first encounter with the Pacific Ocean! After studying about this shrinking ocean in my UCDavis class, I could finally touch it. But brrrrr..... so cold....

I think I can call all my LA trips as feast trips. haha. This time, we had Korean for lunch and Japanese sushi for dinner. Squeezed in a frozen yoghurt in between at Beach Berry.

After Huntington Beach at LA, I was ready for more beach (Santa Barbara and Monterey) to come later the week. Huntington had a very wide sandy beach, I think about 200m. And this is discounting the wet sand part. And of course, there were the big waves for surfers. At night, you could even book fire pits, that were strategically located along the beach for camp fires. And yes, add to the infamous LA smog haha...
